The first non-governmental center in the field of tobacco control
Conducting research to prevent and control tobacco consumption due to the importance of research achievements in the development of cultural and educational services in various fields, is one of the main tasks of the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association. Accordingly, the association made every effort to establish a research center to achieve these goals. For this purpose and with the collective participation of professors, physicians and specialists in related fields and with the permission of the Development Council of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the first non-governmental research center in the field of tobacco control was established.

- Training of researchers in the field of tobacco control
- Conducting foundumental, epidemiological and clinical research to improve the health care delivery system in order to meet the needs of society.

- Comprehensive cooperation and partnership with universities, research institutes, research centers, organizations, and governmental and non-governmental associations inside and outside the country
- Empowering human resources and encouraging and applying them in the field of tobacco control
- Laying the groundwork for institutionalizing research in the provision of cultural, educational-research, health and management services
- Becoming one of the most important tobacco research centers in the region
Database of Tobacco Control Research Center
Numerous damages of tobacco consumption have led to many dissertations and researches in various fields, but many of these researches due to the lack of a comprehensive information system are not properly provided to applicants and are not used as they should be and may not be used. Therefore the existence of a database for these researches is an initial step for advancing tobacco control researches.
The Tobacco Control Research Center (TCRC) affiliated with the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association (IATA) has set one of its most important goals to help researchers, by the establishment of the country's first tobacco research database. In order to achieve this goal dissertations, articles and research projects in the field tobacco control and other reserches about harms of tobacco consumption has been collected from different resources including universities' websites and other databases. The collected information is classified according to different fields (humanities and social sciences, basic sciences, engineering, etc.) and finally is available to researchers and those interested in this field as a database.
The Tobacco Control Research Center invites all researchers in this field to email an abstract of their article or research project to the Tobacco Control Research Center email or to contact the research center experts in order to complete the existing database.

Tobacco Control Research Center, as the first non-governmental center for tobacco control research in the country, seeks to take an interdisciplinary approach to the issue of tobacco, research projects and student dissertations in the field of tobacco (cigarettes, hookahs, electronic cigarettes, chewing tobacco, etc.) in the form of financial support.All professors, researchers and students interested in the field of tobacco control are invited to study the call, prepare a summary of their research projects in the form of the file provided and send it to the email address tcrc@iata.org.ir.
